Unnao Treasure Hunt: Complaint filed against Shobhan Sarkar, Omji and Charandas; more trouble in the offing?

New Delhi: Sant Shobhan Sarkar of Unnao district, who claimed that there is 1000 tons of gold hidden below the ground, seems getting trapped in the law suit. Javed Raza, the General Secretary of JD (united) has filed a complaint against Sant Shobhan Sarkar, his disciple Omji and Union Minister Charandas Mehant in the police station located on the Tughlaq road. In the complaint, he has said that they are trying to encourage superstitious among the people.

A few days back, the National President of JDU, Sharad Yadav said that how can someone dream about something like that? Also, he added that superstition is being encouraged on every step in the village and he will talk to the Prime Minister regarding the same.

Even after the complaint filed by the JDU minister, Sant Shobhan Sarkar stands by his claims. His disciple Omji said that he is not encouraging any superstitious but he has complete faith that there is gold hidden below the ground. Omji also supports his Guru. He also criticised the JDU. In an interview, he told the television channel that he is neither Ramdev nor Asaram, so his claims will come true.

Om Baba, who is talking on the behalf of Sant Shobhan Sarkar, used to be the dominant voice of Congress at one time. He has worked as a spokesperson of the Congress in Meerut for several years. Swami Om spent his childhood and youth in Meerut. Till the latter 90’s, he was known as Om Awasthi. Later, the party leader started calling him as ‘Nanga Fakeer’ because Om Awasthi had taken the oath to keep half his body naked. He only used to wear a white apron.
