Patna/Ranchi: The death toll in the serial blasts in Patna has climbed up to six as
the second suspect succumbed to injuries on Monday. The multiple blasts
that took place on Sunday also left over 102 people injured.
The man had been earlier identified as one Ainul, and it was
believed that he had been injured while attempting to plant one of the
bombs.
Bihar police have said that the Indian Mujahideen were responsible for the blasts.
Three suspects were last night detained by Jharkhand Police during a raid in connection with the serial blasts.
Fourth person was apparently caught by the public and handed over to the police.
Based on the tip-off by Bihar police, Jharkhand police raided a place at Dhurva and detained three suspects.
They are being interrogated,” a senior police officer said here.
The raids led to the seizure of a pressure cooker, extremist literature,
explosives and other materials used to make IEDs. Raids are being
carried out at other places also.
Earlier, Jharkhand Additional Director General of Police (Law and
Order) S N Pradhan said an alert has been issued in the state after
reports emerged that some of the accused involved in today’s blasts are
from Jharkhand. 
Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren has expressed concern over
the incident and condemned the attack. He also asked officials to ensure
that steps are taken to nab those involved in the attack soon.
Five people were killed and 102 injured in seven low intensity
serial blasts in Patna of which six bombs went off in and around the
venue of Narendra Modi’s mega rally at Gandhi Maidan shortly before his address to a huge gathering.
