Iraq Crisis: Indian Navy Puts Two Warships On Standby For Evacuation Of Stranded Indian Nationals

The government is likely to press two warships of the Indian Navy into service to evacuate Indians stranded in civil war-hit Iraq. INS Mysore and INS Tarkash are waiting for a go ahead for the new task, said a report published in The Times of India.
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 




According to the report, INS Mysore reached Persian Gulf on Saturday. Another warship, INS Tarkash, which is presently in the Gulf of Aden, is also ready to undertake the evacuation process.

After Rail Fare Hike, Modi Govt Soon To Increase Natural Gas Prices; CNG, PNG, Urea To Get Costlier

After the 14.2% rail tariff hike, an acceptable increase in natural gas prices could be announced soon. Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday met Oil Minister Dharmendra Pradhan for the second time in three days, apparently to hammer out the increase.

After nearly five hours of discussion on issues facing energy sector on Friday, Modi again called a meeting on Sunday with Pradhan where Finance Minister Arun Jaitley also joined. 
At the Friday meeting, sources told PTI, the gas price revision was flagged as one of the immediate decisions that the new government needs to take to revive investor interest in the stagnant oil and gas sector.

Beas Tragedy Revived: Know What Happened When 10 Students Were Stranded In Tenughat Dam Reservoir

The monsoon has come as a scourge for some people in Jharkhand. At the time when the pain given by Beas tragedy is still hasn’t faded away, ten students are trapped in Tenughat Dam reservoir at Bokaro as water had been suddenly released into it on Friday evening.

The BDO of the area ordered to close the flow of water as soon as he was informed about the stranded youngsters. These children were stranded for about 10 hours and water level in the river kept on increasing. At last they all were rescued at around 11 pm in the night.

Wake up Akhilesh: After Badaun gang-rape and murder, people react angrily on Twitter

Uttar Pradesh's Principal Secretary (Home) Anil Kumar Gupta was on Monday shifted in the aftermath of the strident attack on the state government over the Badaun gangrape and murder case which also triggered street protests by BJP women activists. Police used water cannons to push back hundreds of the activists who tried to march to the office of Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav in Lucknow in protest against the gangrape and murder of two teenage cousin sisters.

Union Minister Gopinath Munde PASSES AWAY following a serious road accident in Delhi

 In a tragic news coming in early this morning, Union Minister and one of BJP's stalwartsr in Maharasthra Gopinath Munde passed away after he met with a serious car accident at around 6.30 am on Tuesday.
 
According to media reports, accident took place at Moti Bagh when Munde, who was in an Ambassador car, was on his way to the airport. He was reportedly leaving for Maharashtra where he was scheduled to attend various post-election rallies.
 
Brother-in-law of Pramod Mahajan & two time BJP MP from Maharashtra is survived by his wife and three daughters. Munde was also Leader of Opposition in the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly during 1992-1995 and has held the post of Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra from 1995 to 1999.
 
 
Speaking to media a short while ago, BJP leader Nitin Gadkari said that Munde had died at around 8 am in the morning. "He was taken to Safdarjung hospital but he passed away at around 8 am this morning.
 
Spokesperson of the AIIMS speaking to the media said that Munde was had no pulse when he arrived at the trauma centre and all efforts were made to revive him. "Munde was brought to AIIMS at 6.30 am this morning by his PA and driver. Munde was sitting on the back seat of his car which was hit by another car from the side at 6.20 am. There was no spontaneous breathing, no pulse, no caridac activity. CPR was started and continued for 50 mins. Despite all efforts, he could not be revived. He was declared dead at 7.20 am. The body has been shifted to the morgue for postmortem, only post that we can say what caused the death. The panel will constitute three doctors. Munde had hypertension and was a sugar patient. He was already under medication.
