Hereditary succession is there to stay in the political diaspora of the Indian politics.
It would be no exaggeration to make that the earlier made statement
is completely justified in today’s context, considering political
dynasties ruling the roost almost everywhere, far and wide, where
democracy holds ground in this country.
Talking about the state of Uttar Pradesh, only dynasty that can
qualify as the first family with impeccable hold over state politics is
that of Yadavs, ably held together by Samajwadi Party (SP) chief Mulayam
Singh Yadav, one time ‘pehelwan’, who served as the chief minister of
state for three times - between 2003-2007 and in the past held the
office during 1989–91 and 1993–95.
He was also the Minister of Defence (1996-98) in the United Front government.
