The Supreme Court on Friday deffered the case of Rajiv Gandhi's assassins to a larger constitutional bench. The assassins V Sriharan alias Murugan, AG Perarivalan and T Suthendraraja alias Santhan will stay in jail till then.
The decision came at around 10:40 am on Friday morning.
The Tamil Nadu government had prematurely released the killers of
Rajiv Gandhi and the court will give its decision in the same regard.
India's late Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi was killed on May 21, 1991
in Tamil Nadu. At least 26 people were found guilty of the act and were
given death penalty by the Supreme Court of India.
