Dehradun/ Rishikesh: British Royal couple Prince Charles and Duchess of Cornwall arrived in Uttarakhand as part of their
nine-day-long tour on Wednesday. The couple was received by Chief
Minister Vijay Bahuguna at Dehradun's Jolly Grant Airport.
The royal couple participated in 'aarti' at the banks of Ganga
River. They also conducted a special 'havan' for world peace at Parmarth
Niketan Ashram. At the ashram Charles advocated the conservation of
nature and paid tribute to the victims of Uttarakhand natural disaster.
The guests stayed at the Ananda Resort in Narendra Nagar (Tehri).
On Thursday, couple is scheduled to visit Indian Military Academy
(IMA), where he will witness the training exercise along with the
Duchess. He is also expected to visit the timber museum at the Forest
Research Institute on Thursday where he will give a small speech about
the importance and need to conserve forest.

Prince Charles takes part in a ritual at the Parmarth Miketan Temple on
the banks of the river Ganges in Rishikesh, in the northern Himalayan
state of Uttarakhand.
