New Delhi: Soon after the most covetous and the highest civilian award Bharat Ratna was announced to be conferred on eminent scientist C.N.R. Rao, he called politicians “idiots”. In an angry outburst, with utter dissatisfaction, Rao targeted the politicians for the ‘inadequate’ funding that is given to the scientific community in the country.
Addressing a press conference in Bangalore after the announcement by the PMO office, he said that much more research work is needed in the field of science for which resources are needed. On being asked about the status of scientific research in the country, the awardee said that the scientific community has achieved much more in comparison to the minimal funds provided.Read more at-http://daily.bhaskar.com/
