Mother 'loses' her young son during Muzaffarnagar riots, CM Akhilesh's police asks her to bring his 'dead body' to register FIR

Bagpat (Uttar Pradesh)/New Delhi: Over two months after the communal riots that broke out in Muzaffarnagar and its surrounding districts, 75-year-old Nawab Begum alias Ballo is running from pillar to post to register a first information report (FIR) against four who allegedly killed her 25-year-old son Khalil on September 10 when he was returning home from Loni.

 This is despite a Supreme Court order which made it mandatory for the police to register an FIR immediately after a cognizable offence is reported to them.
 Cognizable offences are those in which the police can suo motu register an FIR and don’t require a complaint to initiate action. These offences include crimes such as murder, rape, robbery and dacoity.Read more at-http://daily.bhaskar.com/
