MODEL RAPE CASE: Mumbai DIG Sunil Paraskar Suspended

 According to sources, the Maharashtra government on Tuesday decided to suspend Deputy Inspector General of Police, Sunil Paraskar, accused of raping a 25-year-old model in Mumbai.
The decision came after Director General of Maharashtra police sent a damning report on the Paraskar episode to the home ministry.

Second Incident In A Week In Delhi, Speeding SUV Runs Over Three People, One Killed

In the second incident of drunk driving in the national capital this week, a driver who was allegedly in an inebriated state ran over his SUV over three people standing near a footpath in Central Delhi, killing one of them.

Flood waters engulfed vast areas of the delta region of Mahanadi river system in Odisha even as the death toll due to heavy rains and floods in the state climbed to 34.
