Supreme Court To Deliver Its Verdict On Assassins Of Former PM Rajiv Gandhi

The Supreme Court on Friday deffered the case of Rajiv Gandhi's assassins to a larger constitutional bench. The assassins V Sriharan alias Murugan, AG Perarivalan and T Suthendraraja alias Santhan will stay in jail till then.
 
The decision came at around 10:40 am on Friday morning.
 
The Tamil Nadu government had prematurely released the killers of Rajiv Gandhi and the court will give its decision in the same regard.
 
India's late Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi was killed on May 21, 1991 in Tamil Nadu. At least 26 people were found guilty of the act and were given death penalty by the Supreme Court of India.

 The world-renowned Time Magazine is conducting the polls to compile the list of 100 most influential people of 2014. The annual exercise is aimed at selecting a person, group, idea or objects that "for better or for worse...has done the most to influence the events of the year".
 
Like previous years, this year's survey is being conducted on TIME's official website. The voting is underway and the last date of submitting the votes is on April 22. The results of the poll will be announced on April 23 and the official list of 100 most influential people this year will be announced the next day.

India Home To One-Third Of World's Poor People: World Bank Report

India topped the list of the countries with the largest number of poor people. More than one-third of the world's poor people were found in India as per a study conducted by the World Bank.

India was followed by a China, which occupied a distant second spot with home to 13 percent of the world's poor.

The distribution was highly uneven and more than 80 percent of the poor people were found concentrated in ten countries. The top five poorest countries - India (with 33 percent of the world's poor), China (13 percent), Nigeria (7 percent), Bangladesh (6 percent) and the Democratic Republic of Congo (5 percent) - together are home to nearly 760 million of the world’s poor. They were followed by Indonesia, Pakistan, Tanzania, Ethiopia, and Kenya.

Spy Games ISI Operative Waqas Dramatically Nabbed By RAW In Dhaka

Zia-ur Rehman a.k.a. Waqas, an Indian Mujahideen Pakistani operative, had been trying to elope to Pakistan via Nepal from Bangladesh but the luck didn’t favour him as he was detained by India's external intelligence agency Research and Analysis Wing (RAW), according to a report published in The Times of India.

It is learnt that the mistake had been at the part of ISI as it failed in its operation of preparing valid passport of IM operative. The passport of Waqas didn’t have the entry stamp, which brought him under the ambit of suspicion.

The Bangladeshi police officials got active and prepared to arrest the man, which was suddenly noticed by RAW staffer, who immediately clicked a photograph through his phone and send it to the senior officials.

Tehelka Case: 'Shoma Chaudhary Pressurised To Send Apology On Terms Dictated By The Alleged Victim', Alleges Tarun Tejpal In Supreme Cour

The sexual harassment case against Tehelka founder editor Tarun Tejpal has taken a new turn. In a bail application filed before Supreme Court last week, Tejpal alleged that he had mailed the apology to the victim under pressure from Shoma Choudhary and the apology was sent on the terms as dictated by the alleged victim.
Tejpal, who has already spent 130 days in jail, moved the Supreme Court for bail after his plea was dismissed by the Bombay High Court.
 
As per a report published in Mail Today, in a 500-page bail plea,  the Supreme Court that his apology to the victim, being used as key evidence against him, was sent "on the terms of the victim" under pressure from Shoma Chaudhury, the then managing editor of the magazine

Modi’S Aide Amit Shah Booked For His 'revenge' Speech, Under EC Scrutiny

Narendra Modi's key associate Amit Shah has been booked on Sunday by the Bijnore district administration for allegedly inciting the public by a controversial "revenge" remark during a speech in Uttar Pradesh. "A case has been lodged under various sections of the IPC and the Representation of People's Act by the district magistrate regarding some objectionable part in Shah's speech," chief electoral officer Umesh Sinha told PTI in Lucknow.

Shah was booked under section 153 of the IPC (inciting people) and section 125 of the Representation of the People Act (promoting enmity between different classes), he said.

The FIR followed a complaint by Congress  which accused Bjp's UP incharge of "creating animosity between communities" and said he has committed an offence under section 125 of RPA.

All you FBians and Tweeple out there, here is a shocking news for you. In view of the forthcoming Lok Sabha polls, the central government has decided to put a ban on your favourite social networking sites, which pose a "threat to democracy."

The Information and Broadcasting ministry has taken the decision to ban the social networking sites after the Election Commission had filed a PIL in the Supreme Court, appealing a ban till May 16, which is the poll results day.

"These websites pose a huge threat to our democracy. Facebook has become 'Fakebook' while Twitter has misled people in the most serious ways. This propaganda should be banned with an immediate effect,” the ministry said in a statement.
