The counting of votes for 16th Lok Sabha Elections is started all over the country. The trends and results have started coming in.
 
The exit polls had depicted the clear victory of Narendra Modi's BJP led NDA. In Delhi, the Modi wave is proving to be true. Dr Harshvardhan has emerged as a winner from Chandni chowk defeating Aam Aadmi Party candidate Ashutosh and Congress' Kapil Sibal.

The highest ever turnout in an Indian general election means the highest ever turnout in any democratic process anywhere in the world. Fifty-five crore voters queued up to get their finger inked, more people than the combined population of the USA and Russia.

 It has also been the most polarised election in a long time. And of course, it's the most expensive election ever fought in India. And we're not yet talking about undeclared expenses: The government alone spent Rs. 3,426 crore, that's 131 percent more than the bill for the 2009 general election.

The results and trends of Lok Sabha Elections have started coming in. The preparations of counting are completed at the center in Galla Mandi of Kanpur. The security forces are deployed at every turn.
 
The fate of BJP's Murli Manohar Joshi and Shriprakash will be decided after the results.
The counting of votes was to start at 8 in the morning in Kanpur but postal ballots were opened up at 8:30 am delaying the counting of votes. Also, out of 412 postal ballots, 44 invalid ballots were recovered.

After Calling Priyanka Gandhi As Daughter Like Modi Refers To Ahmed Patel As ‘Good Friend’

Just after news about public broadcaster Doordarshan allegedly editing out certain remarks by the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP’s) prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi that Priyanka Gandhi is like her daughter, making rounds, allegedly edited reference by the Gujarat Chief Minister in the interview that the Congress leader Ahmed Patel is a ‘good friend’ has further heated up the issue. Times of India reported the news first on Thursday.
 
Modi said in the interview "Ahmedbhai is among the best friends I have in Congress but not now. I had a good friendship with him and would have preferred that it had remained so.but he now runs away from me and doesn't take my calls.”

Tehelka Case: 'Shoma Chaudhary Pressurised To Send Apology On Terms Dictated By The Alleged Victim', Alleges Tarun Tejpal In Supreme Cour

The sexual harassment case against Tehelka founder editor Tarun Tejpal has taken a new turn. In a bail application filed before Supreme Court last week, Tejpal alleged that he had mailed the apology to the victim under pressure from Shoma Choudhary and the apology was sent on the terms as dictated by the alleged victim.
Tejpal, who has already spent 130 days in jail, moved the Supreme Court for bail after his plea was dismissed by the Bombay High Court.
 
As per a report published in Mail Today, in a 500-page bail plea,  the Supreme Court that his apology to the victim, being used as key evidence against him, was sent "on the terms of the victim" under pressure from Shoma Chaudhury, the then managing editor of the magazine

Subrata Roy Sahara Appealed Before The Supreme Court To Put Him Under House Arrest In The Todays Proceedings.

In the high profile case involving non-reimbursement of money to bond investors, Subrata Roy Sahara appealed before the Supreme Court to put him under 'house arrest' in the court proceedings held on Wednesday.
 
Representing Sahara in the case, his counsel Ram Jethmalani told court “No international buyer would like to visit the jail to negotiate a deal.”
